The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has made recommendations on a winter booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine (second booster).
You are eligible for the winter booster if you are:
- aged 65 years and older
- a resident of aged care or disability care facilities
- aged 16 years and older with severe immunocompromise
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
You can get the winter booster if it has been 4 months or more since your first booster. You can also get the flu vaccine at the same time as your winter booster.
If you are immunocompromised, you must have received your full course (x3 vaccines + first booster) to be eligible for the winter booster. Speak to your GP if you have any questions or concerns about the vaccines.
