Many walks. One important message.

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence (16 Days Campaign) is fast approaching with hundreds of events happening all across the globe from 25 November to 10 December, 2021.

The 16 Days Campaign is a global initiative dedicated to ending gender-based violence and raising awareness about the impact of violence against women. The campaign runs from the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25 November) to International Human Rights Day (10 December) in order to symbolically link violence against women and human rights.

This year, North Richmond Community Health (NRCH) has registered to raise awareness and walk in solidarity with victim-survivors of family violence and violence against women, at the 13th Annual Walk Against Family Violence (WAFV) on Thursday 25 November 2021

The WAFV is an annual event held on 25 November, where community members take a collective stand against family violence by participating in one of the many walk events held across Victoria on the day.

Public health restrictions and limits on public gatherings mean this year’s event will look different but the purpose remains the same: to take a collective stand against family and domestic violence.

Everyone is invited, including local residents, clients, and all NRCH staff to take part in the walk which will conclude on NRCH grounds with a speaker, BBQ, and some information and resources.

Together, we can prevent family violence and violence against women and help send a message across Victoria that family violence and violence against women is never okay.
