Embracing Reconciliation: Join us to acknowledge National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week

May 24, 2023Latest News

This Friday 26 May, North Richmond Community Health (NRCH) will be acknowledging National Sorry Day. This day holds immense importance, especially for those with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. It provides a platform for community to come together, share their healing journey, and foster unity.

Following Sorry Day, we enter National Reconciliation Week, which runs from 27 May to 3 June. The theme for this year is “Be a Voice for Generations,” urging all Australians to actively contribute to reconciliation in tangible ways in our daily lives, wherever we may be.

These observances present a crucial opportunity for us all to deepen our understanding of reconciliation and healing in Australia. It’s a time to learn about our shared histories and cultures, raising awareness and amplifying the voices of our First Nations.

To gain further insights and explore NRCH’s commitment to reconciliation, please read NRCH’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This document provides valuable information and resources to support our journey towards lasting change and meaningful reconciliation.

We encourage everyone to participate and be a part of this important movement. By embracing these observances, we can contribute to a more inclusive and reconciled future.

To mark both Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week, NRCH will be holding three events. Swipe across to see details:
