Today is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and also marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. The 16 Days of Activism runs every year from 25 November until 10 December (International Human Rights Day), and is a global initiative dedicated to ending gender-based violence and raising awareness about the impact of violence against women.

Earlier this week, local residents and North Richmond Community Health (NRCH) staff came together at our weekly Art of Life group to write messages on posters expressing their feelings about family violence and violence against women. Through this, we hope to send a message across the community and wider, that there is no excuse for violence and to increase awareness of the impact of violence and abuse.

NRCH will also be hosting a local Walk Against Family Violence next week on Tuesday 29 November, to share these important messages and to walk in solidarity with victim-survivors of family violence and violence against women.

Join us for the walk and wear ORANGE!

???? When: Tuesday 29 November | 12pm – 2pm
???? Where: Meet at the front of NRCH, 23 Lennox Street.
