Our North Richmond Community Health Oral Health Program hosted a dental fair on Saturday 19 October with the support of volunteer organization Tzu Chi.

Volunteer dentists provided free treatment for some of the most disadvantaged groups and community members who would otherwise have difficulty accessing public dental care.

This year we had 23 clients receive dental treatment provided by five volunteer dentists and the assistance of nine dental students. Other Tzu Chi volunteer health care providers also offered physiotherapy, acupuncture, and oral and general health advice. The Tzu Chi volunteers also assisted clients in travelling to our centre by driving them from their homes or places of shelter to the service.

This is the sixth year we have hosted this biannual event and we are always amazed at the efficiency, generosity and compassion of the Tzu Chi army of volunteers – not to mention the delicious lunch they prepare for their workers.

The Tzu Chi volunteers and clients were very grateful to have his kind and warm assistance navigating the centre. We look forward to teaming up again in 2021.
