NDIS Funding for Child Health and Development

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Early Childhood Early Interventions (ECEI) are Government insurance schemes. They provide support for Australian children with disabilities, and their families and carers.

Our Child Health and Development team provides the following services under the Government’s NDIS and ECEI schemes:

  • speech pathology
  • dietetics
  • occupational therapy

We can also provide the following services for children. These services are not NDIS or ECEI funded, but can be free or only incur a low fee:

  • paediatrics
  • maternal child health nursing
  • general practice
  • referrals to our casework and counselling teams.

Click here to learn more about the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach.

Eligibility

  • Children aged 0 – 7
  • Children with many needs, or children with needs that are severe and likely to be ongoing
  • Children living in the North East Melbourne Area.

How does Early Childhood Early Intervention work at North Richmond Community Health?

Our Child Health and Development team will assess your child to identify strengths, difficulties and changes. The assessment will form goals for your child and strategies to reach them. Your child will be paired with a Key Worker who:

  • develops your child’s goals
  • guides your family through your child’s treatment plan
  • helps with your paperwork.
