Did you know that there are 1.2 million Australians with communication disability?
Communication is more than just speaking. Australians with communication difficulties communicate with others using a variety of means, including:
- word-based or picture-based communication boards or books
- sign and gesture
- spelling.
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has highlighted the challenges faced by Australians with communication disability. This is why, for this year’s Speech Pathology Week (23 to 29 August), our Speech Pathologists are highlighting this year’s theme: Communicating with Confidence by sharing some handy resources.
