Vote for a new community centre!

Feb 18, 2021Latest News

Did you know that North Richmond community groups and locals do not currently have adequate facilities to come together for activities and events?

To address this problem, we have partnered with Richmond West Primary School to plan the development of a new Community Centre for our local area. This multi-purpose facility would be used by Richmond community members to hold large activities or events that promote health and wellbeing. As an example, the Richmond West Primary School could utilise the Centre to host an event where the whole school community could gather in a space that is large enough for everyone to meet at once.

How you can help

The first step to building a new centre is creating a business plan. You can help us fund this business plan by voting for the ‘Community Centre Planning Project’ in the North Richmond Precinct Community Projects Fund. Click here to vote today.

You can vote for up to ten projects – our plan is just one of many ideas arising from the government’s North Richmond Precinct Community Projects Fund that will make our community a better place to live, work and visit. For example, our friends at Sisters in the Hood will hold an inclusive Festival of Women to celebrate the contribution women make, as individuals, family members and participants, in the local and broader community.
