Help and advice with day-to-day tasks.
Get strategies and assistance with day-to-day activities including house tasks, transportation and taking care of yourself at home. Our Occupational Therapist will help you to maintain independence and reach your potential in daily activities.
Our Occupational Therapist can offer you advice and help with daily activities including:
- caring for yourself such as showering, eating and continence
- tasks around the home such as cleaning and meal preparation
- getting around your home such as using stairs and getting on and off chairs
- accessing the community such as getting to the shops
- managing pain, fatigue and discomfort that limit your activity
- pressure care management
- caring for someone who is frail, aged or disabled.
Our occupational therapist can give advice about :
- day-to-day activities
- pressure care management
- wheelchairs, scooters and other equipment
- funding applications for equipment or home modifications.
Our services are:
- free (for clients in the Priority Access Group). See our fees page for more information.
- culturally-sensitive
- available in languages other than English.

Juniper
Ageing Well Service Team Leader and Occupational Therapist
Juniper qualified as an occupational therapist with honours in 2005 and after working for many years in Melbourne hospital and private practice settings, joined North Richmond Community Health in 2022. Juniper has a depth of experience working with clients with various health conditions and challenges and has a keen interest in supporting older adults in their homes. She is registered with Statewide Equipment Program and completes home assessments across the City of Yarra for adults registered with My Aged Care and can assist with recommendations and funding for equipment and minor home modifications.

Caitlin
Occupational Therapist
Caitlin has worked as an occupational therapist in aged care and community health to support older adults to remain in their homes. She has a particular interest working with vulnerable clients to recommend health services, home modifications and equipment to support people to remain living safely at home and have increased engagement with a healthy life. She is an experienced team leader supporting staff delivering a variety of health and ageing services to vulnerable clients.

Karen
Occupational Therapist
Karen is a senior clinician who brings over 30 years of experience to her role as a community Occupational Therapist, joining North Richmond Community Health in 2023. She has a depth of experience in working with older adults to support them to live safely and independently at home and out in their community. She employs a strengths-based approach and her special interests include home modifications, pressure care, assistive technologies and falls prevention.
Karen is passionate about community health and has been a contributing member of OT Australia for many years and involved in policy development, best practice, and mentorship for other clinicians.

Ali
Occupational Therapist
Ali graduated from Latrobe University with a B App Sci (OT) and Post Grad Dip (OT). She has worked as an Occupational Therapist in the UK and Melbourne in hospitals and community health services and started at North Richmond Community Health in 2024. Ali’s practice is primarily focussed on falls prevention, home modifications and equipment to support adults with chronic health conditions to engage in their daily activities at home and out in the community. Ali enjoys working collaboratively with clients and their carers as well as other health and community services across the City of Yarra.
