Helping Reduce COVID-19 cases in North Richmond

Sep 29, 2020Coronavirus (COVID-19)

On 12 July 2020, North Richmond Community Health setup a COVID-19 testing clinic in less than 24 hours to help respond to Victoria’s surge in cases. As of 15 September 2020, there are no COVID-19 cases and close contact cases on the Richmond housing estate.

We also opened a COVID-19 Information Tent on the Richmond Housing Estate and setup in-reach and outreach teams to provide help and support to our surrounding community. Over the past two months we have provided the community support via:

  • A testing site within North Richmond Community Health
  • Mobile testing and support teams that visit each residential tower to provide COVID-19 tests, wellbeing checks and health information.
  • A COVID-19 health information tent setup on the North Richmond Housing Estate
  • A call-centre to contact each household for health and wellbeing checks, information provision and referrals to community and social services when needed.

Our program was able to engage with a range of diverse backgrounds through our connections and consultations with leaders from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Working with the Department of Health and Human Services public health teams, we stand ready to support the health and wellbeing of our clients, residents and the broader community with these important infection control measures.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, or require health and wellbeing support, call us on 9418 9800 or come to talk to us at our information desk between buildings 106 and 108 Elizabeth Street Richmond.
