Our proactive response to COVID-19

NRCH is actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and has taken proactive steps to lower the risk of transmission in our local community, whilst continuing to offer our vital services to the Richmond community.

The COVID-19 measures implemented have been in consultation with health authorities and may be subject to change based on official advice.

We are asking if client have any COVID-19 symptoms, that you do not come into the centre and you call our reception first on 9418 9800. To prioritise the health and safety of our staff and clients throughout this process, all incoming clients who show symptoms will be screened to determine if they may be at risk.

We are taking action to continue protecting the health of our clients and the broader community. This includes encouraging good hand hygiene practises and physical distancing strategies across all of our services to provide continued safe, and excellent care.

GP and other essential services (including the MSIR) will remain open. It remains our priority to continue to offer safe health services to clients.

As you will appreciate, the situation is moving rapidly and we will update you if and when our response changes.


Appointments

We are managing access to GP clinic appointments consistent with official medical advice and prioritising services for the local North Richmond community where possible.

As advice is constantly changing, please refer back to this page for updates about accessing NRCH services and GP appointments.

Clients who are currently registered with the GP clinic will be able to make appointments directly at North Richmond Community Health, while new clients will be referred to other health services.

For other NRCH services, including dental, counselling and allied health, if there is a change to your existing appointment, our clinicians will be in contact.


MSIR

In addition to usual services at MSIR, staff are checking the temperature of clients and providing COVID-19 awareness health messages to each client.

As many of our clients do not have access to televisions, radios, computers and phones, or speak different languages, we are providing up to date health information to provide comprehensive public health messages.
