March 6: Medically Supervised Injecting Room information session

Mar 1, 2018Latest News

As you may be aware, in late 2017, the Victorian Government announced plans to trial a medically supervised injecting room (MSIR) at the North Richmond Community Health.

The decision is part of the Government’s $87 million Drug Rehabilitation Plan and will help tackle the high number of drug-related overdoses in North Richmond.

The MSIR aims to reduce overdose deaths and overdose harm, improve neighbourhood amenity for local residents and businesses and reduce the number of discarded needles and syringes in neighbouring public areas.

The Department of Health and Human Services is inviting you to attend a community information session for an update on the MSIR project.

The session will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday, 6 March 2018 at Richmond Union Bowling Club, 2 Gleadell St, Richmond.

The session will be hosted by the Department of Health and Human Services and North Richmond Community Health, and will allow time for any questions you may have.

If you wish to attend, please register your attendance via Eventbrite as numbers are limited.

If you have any questions about this event, please email AOD.enquiries@dhhs.vic.gov.au or call the Victorian Government Contact Centre at 1300 366 356 (8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday) for the cost of a local call.

To ensure that you can stay up-to-date, information and answers to frequently asked questions are available at the Victorian Government’s website.
